The vast majority of people now days would have heard about and know of vinyl cut signage.
For those who haven’t, it’s a process whereby a roll of self adhesive vinyl is loaded into a machine, which has a small knife blade installed. The computer then relays information to the machine, which then cuts the vinyl into the desired letter or pattern. The vinyl is then “stuck” to the sign.
We have, installed in our business, both 1200mm and 600mm wide cutters, therefore being able to produce, in most instances, one-piece lettering and logos with no joins.
General information about vinyl lettering:
Vinyl only comes in set solid colours (having said this the range is vast)
Is generally split into 2 grades.
Cast approx 8 yrs life (outdoor)
Calendered approx 6 yrs life (outdoor)
Used for most long term applications
It IS NOT “Contact” as is used for book covering
For most general signage the new generation of calendered vinyl is more than enough to meet the average requirement. If you desire your sign to last beyond this time please request cast vinyl.
We will only use vinyl, which has proven itself to us and we can therefore confidently assure it will last the test of time.
