We have, installed in our workshop, a computer controlled 3 axis engraver.
This machine is capable of engraving in a variety of materials.
Some of the most common materials the machine is utilised for engraving are: Aluminium, Acrylic, Timber and a material called Engravers Ply.
Engravers Ply is a two-layer material, which the top layer is engraved through to expose the underlying layer, which is a different colour. I.e.: top layer might be white, bottom layer might be black, and therefore giving a label that has a white background with black engraved letters.
When engraving into aluminium and other materials the most common method is to then infill the lettering with the desired colour paint to make it stand out.
This machine is used primarily for, but no limited to, the engraving of machine identification plates and the engraving of control panel labels.
